Suzuki, Terayama, Matsumoto hanno preso parte a quella generazione di registi che nell’era del miracolo economico giapponese provavano ad incrinare le convenzioni sociali della società di cui facevano parte con provocazioni estetiche e politiche. L’era Shōwa fu l’era in cui regnò l’imperatore Hirohito, ovvero il periodo che va dal 1926 al 1989. L’ondata di sperimentazione artistica e la turbolenza sociale del decennio a cavallo tra gli anni ’60 e ’70 – da cui “obliquo Shōwa” – ha avuto il suo corrispettivo sociale nell’occupazione dell’Università di Tokyo del 1968-69 e nell’ascesa dei movimenti studenteschi più o meno legati alla lotta delle fazioni dello Zengakuren, il sindacato degli studenti comunisti. Lo stesso desiderio di libertà viscerale ispirava i registi in quegli anni e ispira chi si approccia al cinema giapponese di quel periodo.

"Petrolio is a solo project started in 2015 by Enrico Cerrato. Over the past few
years the artist released a number of singles, EPs and albums, touring all
across Europe with the likes of Lingua Ignota, Of the Wand and the Moon,
Winterkälte, Uochi Tochi, Bologna Violenta, Mai Mai Mai and Pankow to
name but a few. By 2019 the Piedmont-based artist already had a number of
high-profile collaborations under his belt with the likes of Jochen
Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Aidan Baker (Nadja), as well as many
well-known artists from the Italian noise/industrial/experimental scene such as Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Almagest!, Blind Cave Salamander, Coypu, Larsen, XXL), Sigillum S, Stefania Pedretti (OvO, ?Alos) and Mai Mai Mai. He also curated a number of compositions designed for contemporary theatre
shows such as Angela Teodorowsky's Intramoenia and a new interactive
show, which will debut in 2021. The artist worked for the movies as well by
creating the soundtracks of The Tale Of The Idiot by Seth Morley and Film
Fantasma (Episodio 5: Respira) by Gabriele Di Benedetto "Akab" produced
by Carboluce."
